Marble
Marble is a very hard, durable stone with a soft, warm look and tremendous variation in color and texture over its face.
A favorite material of interior designers, it makes its mark as a feature stone, the focal point of a room.
Often used as a slab for veneer or countertop applications, marble also stands up structurally and carves well to create shapes and columns.
Our Ancient Golden Marble takes an antique finish that has a lustrous sheen.
Our Golden Beige Marble from Egypt is like butter to fabricate, very receptive to carving.
Marble has a more dramatic matrix and broader range of colors than other stones because of the dynamic forces that created it.
Marble began as a Limestone experiencing several metamorphoses that included dramatic movement and extreme heat. This process created new minerals - not present in the original deposit - that recrystalized to form marble.
When considering marble for your project, approve several samples to determine its full range of variation before making a decision on appearance.
The calcitic material that composes marble, similar to the carbonate of limestone, makes it vulnerable to acids. This is ideal for achieving a weathered or aged appearance, either by applying a finish or exposing to weather.
